Our Story

After completing the “Great Loop” in 2017, we continued to cruise until the end of 2018 when we sold our 390 Mainship. We started our business shortly after and planned on settling down and purchasing a house. Our first job came before the house and it involved not only training a new boat-owning couple, but moving their vessel from North Carolina to Alabama.  We loved it so much, we decided to shift focus from buying a home to buying another boat. Capable Cruising isn’t just our passion, it’s our life.

Scott learned advanced boat handling as a Coxwain in the Coast Guard.  Both Scott and Karen have continued their education by taking courses and obtaining their Captain’s Licenses.

We purchased a beautiful Meridian 408 “DunRunnin.”  In addition to onboard training, and deliver, the purchase of DunRunnin has allowed us to offer the unique service of “Taste of The Loop Cruises” out of Fort Myers, Florida.  Come join us on our boat to see what living aboard is all about.
